How it works

Four buttons from anywhere on Earth.

Your remote becomes a passport. No accounts, no setup, nothing tiny to squint at.

  1. Spin the globe

Turn the Earth with the arrow keys and zoom into a country. Stations sit on their cities, and a dotted line shows where the sun is setting right now.

  2. Tune the dial

Press down over a city and a station dial slides up. Left and right flip through what is on the air there. OK plays it.

  3. Search like a person

Look up a station, a country, a city, a genre or a language. Before you type, MartianWave suggests a few to try.

  4. Let it surprise you

Random Radio, Surprise Me and Genre Journey pick something for you, and your Listening Journey remembers where you have been.

On your TV

Built for the couch, not the cockpit.

Large type, one clear choice per screen and a mini-player that follows you around.

Questions

Asked on Earth, mostly.

Is MartianWave really free?

Yes. Every station, search, the globe and Discover are free, with no ads. Premium is optional and adds favourites, full history, unlimited skips, extra globe styles and sleep timer presets.

Are there any stations on Mars?

Not yet. Every station in MartianWave is on Earth. We check regularly. Until then, the Red Planet style is as close as we can get.

Where do the stations come from?

From Radio Browser, a free directory maintained by volunteers. Audio streams straight from each broadcaster to your Roku. Read more in Radio directory information.

Why won’t a station play?

Streams go offline, change address or are limited to certain regions. MartianWave tries the station’s alternate address and retries once, then tells you plainly. Roku plays MP3, AAC and HLS streams best.

Does MartianWave track me?

No. There are no accounts, no analytics and no ads. Your favourites and history stay on your Roku. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is stored and shared.

Which Roku devices work?

Roku streaming players and Roku TVs running a current version of Roku OS, connected to the internet. MartianWave is designed for 1080p and scales to HD and 4K screens.
